I also gained a lot of strength and definition in the shoulders and upper back. It made planks and push ups easier. Even though I'd been doing traditional weights for decades, the handstands just challenged me in a different way. I guess if you're used to yoga, pull ups, and a lot of body weight arm work, the handstands might not be extremely beneficial.
