Has anyone tried tapping?

My yoga studio is having a Zoominar on this. Just curious - if you have tried it, is tapping really "all that?"

I haven't tried it but am very, very interested in this technique. My best friend's sister is a psychologist and this is something she recommends.

I'll be interested in what others have to say, too!

I've tried it a few times and didn't think it was "all that" -- but maybe I didn't stick with it long enough.

Is this the same tapping as in QiGong?

Anita I am also curious about any similarities/differences to the qigong knocking, etc. techniques.

Yep, I’ve done tapping. It’s like of like acupuncture without the needles....you are just kind of tapping on pressure points with or without verbal affirmations. I found it helpful for depression and anxiety. Didn’t seem to help me lose weight though, lol.

Pat - it is in the same vein as qigong, but the pressure points you tap are mainly on the face, neck and hands.

I haven’t done it for a while. I believe I used this website before I purchased a couple of books on the topic. Lots of info on how to tap there.

Thank you Patti! Think I'll explore on my own instead of paying for the Zoom class. It looks like it might help with stress at work.

I do EFT when my anxiety is really bad. I have both anxiety and Graves’ disease and there are times where it gets to be too much. My endocrinologist feels that I don’t need anxiety medication so with that and exercise, those are my coping mechanisms. Sometimes, I have to repeat it to get to a calm place.

Here is an example for those unfamiliar with EFT.

I have and I think if I had been consistent it would have helped. I may start doing it again thanks to this thread reminding me about it.
