Good catch, bzar! Here's the direct link to those YouTube uploads -- Grace Lazenby, Petra Kolber, Shiva Rea, Annette Fletcher, etc. Wow.
This morning, I did Elena Brower's very vintage Vinyasa Yoga audio download/CD. It was a wonderful practice and back when I acquired it (probably 15 years ago, maybe a bit more?) there weren't that many options available for solid instruction in a ~90-minute comprehensive practice. I was going to do a longer practice from Yogaworks streaming site (the company I work for gave us all a one-year subscription when we shut down our offices because of the virus) but was so glad I didn't -- the quality of her practice is truly special and made me think a Yogaworks practice would've felt a bit more like a workout (not always a bad thing) and doing something relatively strong yet contemplative was what I needed this morning. I'll never really try to tackle arm balances (tweaky wrists, too lazy to do that much core work...) amd headstand (bumpy head, literally) so much of the "advanced" stuff out there doesn't appeal to me. And it also makes me think about how some of these "earlier" teachers have put out such classical stuff (yoga being a really ancient thing so maybe "classical" isn't the right word) have set a gold standard that still prevails. To this day, I find Eoin Finn's early works to be as wonderful as they were the first time I tried them a decade or more ago. But back to the list... I'm so excited about these oldies but goodies now It's time to vary things up a bit, and some of this stuff is going to feel so comfortable (good for today's times) and fun! Also, as much as I enjoy some YouTube options, there's something to be said about the cueing, choreography, sets, familiar background exercisers, music and general production values of old workouts that is harder to find in streaming options. And one difference for certain -- not a big deal -- is changing camera angles (sometimes annoying if badly done). I've always loved Jessica Smith's YouTube channel because while camerawork is basic, she is such a pro that she does a decent to amazing job on all the other aspects of production. |

Thank you! I am going to go through the links.
I saw one channel has Sue West's stretch workouts. I had this ages ago but gave it away to someone here. Here is the link. I may try it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4FizxhaXbOk
