Stott Basics. It is a bit dry but very detailed which I think is important to learn proper technique.

Beyond that I actually like Ana Caban's programs, both her beginner and intermediate.

Liz Gillies Target Tone are good for 10 minute workouts.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may have the Dummies one on VHS somewhere. My video collection was boxed up while we were in Ireland so I'll have find/unpack the VHSs. The 10 MS and some of the others look interesting.

Another vote for Pilates for Dummies. The DVD has both the basic and intermediate workouts.

I do a lot of Pilates and have taken weekly individual lessons for years. My favorite introductory Pilates DVD is Hilary Burnett's Pilates Basics. She has three DVDs with the advanced one being very advanced.

Hilary uses insets to show modifications up or down so doesn't waste a lot of time in the workout. She has a lot of tips on correct form. She studied with the big school out of Colorado whose name I've forgotten, so her style is slightly different than Romana's or Stott.

I occasionally pop in the Basics video and just do the core 15 minute mat routine without the set up and form practice moves or the end stretch. It's easy to do it using the form for whatever level you've reached in Pilates if you do more advanced workouts and I like Hilary and her voice. I believe the full workout on Pilates Basics is about 25 or 30 minutes.

Rael System 7 - very good beginner workout. Rael takes the time to explain the right position and form. System 17 is intermediate and a natural follow up on system 7.
