Favorite low-impact sweatfest

Good morning,

I usually try to stick with light walking and Classical Stretch, but I am in desperate need of some really sweaty low impact workouts right now (long story). I need to keep it beginner and intermediate only. I can't jump due to knee and hip issues. Please share your favorites with me (equipment and DVDs).

Spinning is a great low impact workout if you have access to a bike. Or anything with the sliding discs like Cathe uses in her Low Impact series - slide and Glide or even Turbo barre might suit your needs.

Another vote for Jessica Smith's cardio workouts. A lot of them are certainly walking based workouts, yet different than Leslie. I also think they are a bit more intense than Leslie, yet still low impact.

Definitely try Jessica Smith. Also, there's the old Michelle Dozois workout called "Walk Your Way Slim" which is really a low impact workout and not a walking workout. Petra Kolber's Boot Camp Boogie is also good. If you can find them Charlene Prickett's low impact workouts are also good. She has a long one called "Low Impact, High Intensity" plus her It Figures TV shows.

Here's another vote for spinning/biking. My "go to" DVDs are any of Cathe's or Mindy Mylrea's (although Mindy's music isn't great nor loud enough for my taste).

I also think Cathe's ICE series (my favorite of all Cathe's series to date) gives lots of low impact options. And where impact exists, it is easily modified out (with very little thought or planning).

KCM's boxing works are intermediate and mostly low impact (and easily modified where not).

Lastly, I really like Susan Chung's kickboxing. They are mostly low impact but again, where not, they are super easy to modify.
