Can you spin on an upright stationary bike?

Hi everyone,

I don't post here often(lurk a lot ), but I have a question about spinning. I just purchased a Schwinn upright stationary bike. It is electric and has 12 different tension levels along with 16 different workout programs. Can I use Spinervals or any other cycle workouts(Mindy Mylrea or Cycle Reebok etc.) with this type of bike. The bike's handlebar and seat adjust several different ways as well. I would like to purchase a spin bike eventually, but DH has to share and we both agreed that the upright would be ideal right now due to space, cost etc.

TIA
Aila

Aila, I have a cheap Sears bike and I do it all the time. It does put stress on the pedals that it was not designed for, however. But for $99 I'll just get get another one if I break it.

Hi,

I bought the bike at fitnessbob.com. They also sell the same model at amazon.com for about the same price. It ran under $400.00 & I absolutely love it.

Is that the Weslo? I was going to get one, but because of lack of space I wound up with a mini-cycle. It actually works. Not for spinning of course.

I used to have a Weslo cardio glide. Built pretty solidly for what it cost.
