Where are we at with getting new and/or more active moderators?

I'm just concerned.....I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything from Wendy?

are there any active moderators?

if not, we've been doing very well without being monitored. but I agree no one should be waiting a year to get in here.

do you have any idea how this can be taken over?

I have free time, I'd love to help.

A number of us have volunteered to help moderate.

I agree....this forum has been very mellow and no need for um, intervention. I just feel bad that people aren't getting approved for membership.

I wonder how we can get new mods? I don't think we need exchange mods....as that forum has gotten very slow due to streaming.

Before activating new members on another site I mod on, I recommend plugging the IP addresses of new members through https://stopforumspam.com/search and if they pass that, iplocation.net. (If their IP location is in Russia or Ukraine, etc., it's pretty safe to assume spammer. China as well but I know we have at least one VF member whose location is in China so you never know.) The stopforumspam site luckily catches almost all the spammers.

I only offer this as (hopefully) helpful advice to any future mods who will be activating new members. On the small site I mod on, I would estimate only about 5% of new people who register are non-spammers.

Yes, I’d be happy to moderate, hope Wendy pops in soon!

I didn't know you had to do this or this is what is done before someone gets in this forum. What we don't know.

Has anyone heard anything yet about who the active moderators are?

Pam 09-11-19 01:18 PM

Wendy is paying the bills for the website and hopefully earning enough through membership dues and Amazon % to cover the expenses. I hope in the future she will continue do that.

I just wish she would show up and tell us what’s going on

I'm a VF supporter and pay every year. Hopefully there are enough remaining VF supporters - ???
