Anyone else spending more on .......

orthotics than workouts?

So far this year alone, I have purchased:

a ankle brace
back brace
heel cushion inserts
horseshoe shaped pillow

It's been quite a Mr. Toad's wild ride.....

Love the Mr. Toad reference! In the recent past, I've bought:

spiky massage ball
compression arch supports
ProStretch night sock
night splint
countless rolls of KT tape
ProStretch calf stretcher and foot rocker thing
OTC shoe inserts

--all in an attempt to heal my PF, which finally went away after custom orthotics and physical therapy. But I still have the full arsenal in my closet in case it returns.

oh fer shur, I'm investing in a number of 'therapeutic aids.' My fave remains Melt Method. We have a variety of other balls, bands, inserts, splints, ice packs of various sizes and rollers. My husband just returned from an extended business trip with a thera cane. So yeah, I feel you!

yes. this year I bought a brace for my plantar fasciitis. it helps.

I also discovered I could use my yoga strap wrapped around my ankle and arch to help keep my foot in a 90° ankle while sleeping.

Birkenstocks. We have ceramic tile, and it aggravates my PF to go without them. I also have a massage roller with two hard balls on it, that I use like a foam roller.

Sherri,

I sure feel your pain! My list of therapeutic devices is too long to list but last year I suffered with PF, and now this year Frozen Shoulder. I've really had to scale back my workouts (in both situations) in favor of gentle stretch or PT stuff, but the physical therapy devices have taken over certain rooms in my house!

Bedroom...for shoulder
I have a pulley/rope setup hanging from the door.
Wrestling mats on the floor
Lightweight stick/bar for overhead raises while reclining (on above mats.)
Special (pregnancy) supportive pillow in the bed (also horseshoe shaped.)
massage sticks, balls, creams and potions
TENS device
Shiatsu massage neck "pillow"
Yoga strap, mat
heated herbal wraps

for PF
Wraps for feet that can be chilled in freezer
Foot brace thingy for night-time wear
massage sticks, balls, creams and potions
shoe inserts -Dr. Scholls and other
Keen sandals to wear on all hardwood floors indoors
bath salts, essential oils (peppermint and lavender)
Wedge pillow to elevate feet/legs in bed
Compression socks
Cushioned socks
More new athletic shoes than I will ever need
Foot rocker thingy

I'm sure there's many more gadgets that I'm forgetting about. It's been crazy.

Bought two sets of Superfeet insoles (different kinds) and that set me back about a hundred bucks... but admittedly, I'm surely but quietly hoarding DVDs since I'm not interested in paying for streaming (having enough DVDs already and Jessica Smith on YouTube to make streaming not worth it for now).

I seem to be investing more in anything with the word stretch in it:)

This. I've drastically increased my stretch/yoga collection.

I also spent most of the winter collecting PF supports/braces/spiky balls/rollers...

A deep muscle massage at least once a month.

I already have every available foam roller type and yoga tune up balls.
