POP Pilates - Free online workouts

Has anyone seen the YouTube workouts from POP Pilates? Some look interesting, with some "TAesque" inspiration, like this "Standing Pilates for Legs, Butt & Obliques": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5mYC...eature=related or this "Butt Blaster": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Q7L6...embedded#at=83

Here is a list of all her workouts: http://www.blogilates.com/workoutindex

Someone had posted them in the bargain watch. I did two of these workouts and I really like them. I love that direct TV HD now lets you view youtube videos so I can do them in my living room. I love Cassy (sp).

These look really good. Haven't tried anything. How do you find out about this stuff? I can't believe how much is out there, but I usually find out about stuff on VF

rad 07-26-11 10:30 AM

They do look great.

Terri1222 07-26-11 12:57 PM

Oooh, these look really good - I'm going to try some of them out tomorrow!

Thanks so much for posting! Now, how would you put these together on a dvd?;)...in w hat order?

ssa438 07-26-11 06:23 PM

I group them by body part

I found POP Pilates on Youtube earlier this summer and downloaded all her videos using Freemake Video Downloader. I have burned them to dvd's based on body focus...there are also some total body videos as well as some that she did for ediets as well. I usually start with a 10 minute video and always end up doing more. I love the music and some of her workouts are really tough- she's very strong!
Great cues and enthusiasm, and she is well organized in the workouts too. It's a fabulous find!

Cybersparkle 07-27-11 12:19 AM

Hey! I found her too last year surfing on youtube for pilates. I do a lot of her ab stuff and it is really effective.
Her music is great and she is super enthusiastic with good cueing. She reminds me of Ellen Barrett, always uplifting with a smile but with funkier, more modern music. I love pilates done to upbeat, faster music.
I hope her plans are to make official dvds or downloads- she already has quite a following- I would def buy one ! ;)

If you download the free RealPlayer software (http://www.real.com/), there is an option to convert files to an mp4 format - super easy!

creatrix 07-27-11 10:26 AM

Thanks for posting this! I found and enjoyed her vids during my pilates kick last year, but had forgotten about them.

But how do you download them in the first place on an apple.... that video downloader is for a windows box. Does RealPlayer convert only, or does it download?

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize RP does not work on an Apple. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in with some ideas...

hotncmom 07-27-11 02:20 PM

Fuzzie, thanks for recommending! I love these. I've been downloading like crazy . These are so easy to use as add-ons to my yoga workouts.

daisysunshine 07-27-11 02:36 PM

crap. I used to have a mac.... you'll want to google. FLV FREE converters. there was this one that's really good - but I can't remember the name (i only had it for a week and then my computer died on me). :(

real player can do it but you might be out of sync

If you are using Firefox as a browser, you can install an extension called Download Helper
http://www.downloadhelper.net/ But first of all make sure that you are using Firefox not Safari or Chrome. You can download Firefox here: http://www.firefox.com.

Firefox is cross-platform so Windows users can run it too ;-)

You Can Use FreeMake for MP4's too

Hi there- I use Freemake to download the videos in the MP4 format, which I both transfer to my ipod touch and make DVDs for some too.
Freemake is free, you can download it here: http://www.freemake.com/

It's pretty simple too, you just go to the video that you want to copy on YouTube, copy the URL, and then paste it into Freemake. It then gives you the option to save in different formats; I always choose MP4.

Good luck!

hotncmom 07-27-11 08:02 PM

I use Freemake too. Choose MP4 format and on my PC it plays in Windows Media Player.

Love, love, love all these free or downloadable workouts! My hard drive is filling up with Ballet Body, Sadie Nardini, and now POP Pilates. Awesome to use on vacations too! I took my laptop to the beach with just a yoga mat and 2 lb. weights and I was good to go!

ssa438 07-28-11 05:52 AM

Thanks!

I just looked up Sadie Nardini on YouTube- I had not heard of these- AWESOME! Thanks hotncmom!

jessicarobin 07-28-11 12:19 PM

i did two of the leg workouts this morning and i'm already sore!

hotncmom 07-28-11 12:41 PM

I did a Kundalini yoga segment, a Ballet Body segment (Mat on Water), and 2 of the POP Pilates leg segments, plus TA Mat Arms. Great workout day! Tomorrow I will do another of the floorwork segments, maybe one of the butt-focused videos

olala 07-28-11 03:06 PM

Wow. I really like those.
PS. Love her little petite figure. :)

Thanks for sharing this. I had seen it the other day but just got around to trying it today. I made me some POP pilates DVD's that I am taking on vacation with me. I was getting tired of having to search pop pilates on the DirectV youtube every time. I so love Cassey.

dumb question

I have an amazingly dumb question. Where do you find the URL for the video you want to download on Youtube? Seriously, when I go on Youtube and look up the videos I want to download, I don't get any URL.:(

ssa438 07-31-11 08:21 PM

It's easier then you think!

While you are viewing the video on youtube, just copy the URL.
This is what works for me when I download using freemake.
I hope it works for you!
Note to clarify - the URL is the Internet address in your browser's address bar.

primrosecat 07-31-11 08:50 PM

Thanks so much, I'll try that. I just downloaded the Freemake program but I don"t see where to paste the url? This is all new to me. I need a tutorial I guess.
