Hi Everyone,

Ugh - our power was out last night from 11 pm to 4:30 a.m. Although I was able to sleep through most of it - it wasn't a good sleep - b/c you know how it is when you know something isn't right in your environment - so I ended up skipping my morning workout. Maybe tonight when I get home from work I'll have the time/energy to do something. It is very windy out so not sure about walking at work today - but I can see how it goes.

I'm still contemplating what to do in March. I want to up the cardio and strength but in a way that doesn't wipe me out or make me dread working out. Maybe it is time to try the CocoLIme program I purchased - I would probably modify some of it - I don't really like the looks of the cardio workouts....

Decisions, decisions...

Hope everyone has a good day!

Waves,

Donna

wishiwasinhawaii 02-27-20 09:31 AM

Donna, It stinks your power went out, and for so long. Do they know what caused it? It's very windy here today and we usually have power issues when it's windy so fingers crossed it stays on! I'm not going anywhere today. I might venture out again tomorrow.

About your DD, if she really isn't sure what she wants to go into, maybe she could just go to a CC the first couple of years and get the gen ed requirements out of the way? I was talking to a guy I work with who has a son who is now 26. He didn't know what he wanted to do after high school and still hasn't finished college, but he works in IT where I guess they don't really have to have a degree. He takes classes here and there and will finish eventually, so maybe a more non-traditional approach is better for those who aren't sure. He went to a local CC the first couple of years.

Leonana 02-27-20 06:47 PM

Yesterday was my Tai Chi class. I was so relaxed afterwards, I had to take a nap! Today was a rest day, although I did some touch up painting in the house. Then did my volunteer filing for two hours.

wishiwasinhawaii, I'm glad you are feeling more normal. Yes, the Kickboxing circuit was pretty tough! I modified to low impact but still had to slow it down some.

Donna, my dd has worked full time for a year. But now she says she wants to quit the full time job, and go to college. She will have to work part time, she has a car payment now and car insurance. Although I think college is a good idea for her, I'm stressing out because she will have to get loans. I wanted her to work full time until closer to August, to save money, but she says she can't handle the job anymore. It's customer service for a cell phone company, and constant talking. She is not an extrovert, although she does well. She got employee of the month last month. It pays well for a starting position and has full benefits. She is still employed there, and won't quit until she gets the part time job. On the plus side, she can live at home and go to cc, which will be cheaper. And we have a major university close to us, so she can transfer there and live at home too.

All that to say that working for a year might be good for your dd, and she'd be more comfortable with college when she's more mature. But I don't think I'd be comfortable with them not going to college or not working, they would have to do one or the other.

donnamp 02-28-20 10:05 AM

hi Everyone,

Last night I did:

Trifecta Pilates - Feel Good Pilates

That was about all I had the time and energy for. We had a bit of a drama situation at work yesterday - my new boss was going to have all my work once again funnel through the person who was acting manager when I first started there - even though he and I are now peers. Anyway, for those of you who were around to listen to me complain about him when I first transferred over there, I knew it just wasn't going to work. It is not like me to make waves, but I had to this time - I told my manager it just wasn't going to work and, fortunately, she made the change and my work will go to her for review instead of him. If she hadn't changed her mind on that, obviously, I would have had to suck it up but I would for sure be looking to leave b/c I don't ever want to deal with reporting to someone like that again.

Ahhh.

And, today's workout was:

Leslie Walk 15 Mile # 1 - always good energy w/ Leslie
Trifecta Pilates - 15 Min High Energy Pilates flow

So...I think for March I'm going to try to up my cardio. We are going through our busy season at work and I know there will be days when I can't get out to walk at lunch or to take a break, so I'm going to make more of an effort to get some cardio in regularly at home. I am also going to make use of my Trifecta Membership - I purchased a year at a discount in January and have barely used it. I'm not sure why b/c I enjoyed the workouts I did today and have enjoyed her stuff in the past. So, I think March will be walking & pilates focus with some other things thrown in from time to time. My DD indicated that she wants to start exercising to get stronger, so maybe she and i can do some strength workouts together from time to time.

Sherry - I'm with you - I'm fine with my DD going to community college or a local college and living at home or working or doing PT college and PT work - but sitting home to work on her portfolio isn't going to happen - and it isn't good for her - she needs to get out there and get out of her own head.....There are a lot of colleges that are close to us and w/in reasonable commuting distance if she doesn't want to go away. Or, if she wants to try her hand at a full time job, that is fine, too. But, sitting home not gonna happen! :)

On the skin care front - I'm loving the new Cerave retinol. I think I like it better than Differin! I've been using it most nights of the week and then a few nights a week I use the Alpha 12% AHA. I also learned I can't handle chemical sunscreens - they burn my eyes. So I'm using either mineral or combo sunscreens. Right now I'm back the Eucerin SPF 30.

waves, wishiwasinhawaii! yes, with IT/tech I think you can find work without a degree...

Happy Friday.

Donna

Leonana 02-28-20 04:30 PM

Today was You Tube, Buns and Guns Barre workout. When Jessica updated her website, she also updated the Fusion challenge, and that workout was different from the original one listed. However, I'm glad she did, I really enjoyed this one. Light weights and low impact, but a good workout.

I had printed out a copy of the February Fusion Challenge. But I always access the You Tube workout on my phone from Jessica's website, so it's in my You Tube history. That way I can find it easily on the Roku You Tube for my bedroom TV. I had to ask myself, why am I printing out these schedules, when I can just bookmark it on my phone? I guess it's a holdover from the past, lol.

Donna, that's great your manager listened to you. Way to be assertive! That's interesting you like the retinol better. I didn't see much difference with retinol, but I probably didn't use it long enough to see results. I've read retinol takes longer to work. I really like the Curology, it's a very low percentage of tretinoin. I also like the Paula's Choice 8% AHA. The Alpha 12% sounds good, but I don't know if my skin can handle the extra percentage. Of course, now I want to try it, lol. Dr Dray did a drugstore skincare video, and there were a few things I'd like to check out. I also really like niacinimide and use The Ordinary. I'd like to try Good Molecules or The Inkey List, to see if one of them is any better. Probably not, but you never know.

Regarding college, I think our kids stress out when they think about the future. I keep telling my daughter that she doesn't have to decide everything right now, she can take her time. Working did help my daughter, and she's more open to college now. However, she's not doing well working full time, and it's overwhelming her. I think it's the type of job, she really doesn't like it. Maybe cc would be a good fit for your daughter. My daughter took a couple of classes her senior year in high school, and it was a good way to get her toe into college. CC's are smaller and less overwhelming.

donnamp 02-29-20 09:29 AM

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did a treadmill walk - a rarity for me - I followed a program that Jessica Valent had on her monthly calendar for February - it included some hills and boy, that was a wake up call for me and how much stamina I have lost....I used to be able to do things like that no problem but this time it was a challenge. I think I need to force myself to do a workout like this 2-3X per week to gain back some endurance. Fortunately, I have a lot of treadmill workouts printed out....so I can give this a go....

I may also use my bike more - I have a recumbent bike but I don't use it that often either. But, I think the TM and Bike may be the best ways to up the intensity of my workouts w/out adding impact or dreadful things like burpees and mountain climbers.

So....

I also did Jessica Valent's Pilates and Yoga for Cyclists - it was a good one to do after the walk.

Sherry - I agree, kids are stressing out about everything too much - one day at a time! I think the schools put pressure on them to know what they want to do - and it is ridiculous on some level b/c how do you know what you want to do when you haven't had any actual work experience yet??? I'm glad my boss listened to me, too. It would have been dreadful having to deal with him again.....

Waves everyone!

Donna

Leonana 02-29-20 12:59 PM

I'm helping dh paint, so will do something lighter. Not sure what yet.

Donna, work experience can make a difference. It definitely helped my daughter make up her mind about what she wants to do. She quit her full time job today, and will start at Starbucks in two weeks. She plans on college in August. So many people don't know what they want to do until their mid twenties, even thirties or forties! My dd's boyfriend went to cc for two years to become a nurse, realized he hated it, and is now a supervisor at the cell phone company she worked at. He likes it much better.

Good job on the treadmill! I wish I had kept my stationery bike. It was an upright and I could do spinning on it if I wanted. It was a cheap one from Craigslist, but worked really well. I need to keep my eye out for another one.

Regarding sunscreens, I love the Hado Labo. It is very gentle around my eyes and has superior UVA protection with tinosorb. Here's a link to the one I get. It's not overly moisturizing, sort of a light gel consistency. I'm not wild about jar packaging, but at least it's easy to get it all out of the jar when you use it up.

wishiwasinhawaii 02-29-20 01:35 PM

Feeling good today, finally! I think I'm back to normal now. What an ordeal. They say the coronavirus is even worse than the flu. I don't even want to think about that.

I plan to stay in all weekend though, just to give my immune system a chance to recharge. I cleaned the house today and watched TV. I'm going to work from home again on Monday. Might as well since I'm taking Tuesday and Wednesday off anyway and I work from home Thursdays and Fridays.

Donna, My nephew found out he is on the waitlist for the local college, so it's doubtful he'll be going there. He was a bit disappointed, but I think he'll be ok. He wants to be a physical therapist, but it's a long road (7 years) so we'll see. He has to major in exercise science and then apply to grad school and I wonder if he'll still want to do it after all that, but time will tell.

Sherry, I've known quite a few people who thought they wanted to be nurses and realized it wasn't for them. It really takes a special kind of person to be a nurse. I know I never could! It's great your daughter made the decision to quit her job and go to college. What's nice about it is it is HER decision and not something she was pressured to do. A very adult thing to do!

Back to watching TV. I'm going to give myself another few days and then I think I'll ease back into exercise by doing Jessica's under the weather routine.

Leonana 03-01-20 02:50 PM

Yesterday was Jessica's 30 Minute Power Interval Walk. This one was pretty easy to do low impact, there wasn't a lot high impact moves in it.

I didn't help dh yesterday, but will help him paint early evening. That will be today's workout. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so it's today or a few days later. DH's friend said we couldn't paint yesterday with the sun shining on the wall, and needed to wait until later. On the schedule was Stepping Strength, but I will try that one tomorrow, depending on how sore I am from painting!

wishiwasinhawaii, I am glad she decided to go to college. I thought she might eventually, although it happened quicker than I expected! And Starbucks has affordable medical, so that's a relief. What's funny is that I was worried about her not going to college, then I was worried about her quitting a full time job. I always worry about something, lol.

Donna, I forgot to mention that Dr Dray gave a good review to the new Walgreens Sensitive SPF 50, which is a combination sunscreen. She said it was very similar to the EltaMD Clear. CVS also has a similar version. I want to try it. As usual, lol.

donnamp 03-01-20 07:55 PM

Hi Everyone,

Grace and Gusto w/ Ellen today and a walk w/ my DD.

I think I'm going to follow Jessica Valent's template for this month although I am going to tweak it a little and maybe throw in some other instructors, this is my plan so far:

Sunday - Fusion-Yoga-Pilates
Monday - Steady State Cardio & Stretch
Tues - short cardio/walk & arms
Wed - HIIT & stretch
Thurs - Fusion-Yoga-Pilates
Friday - short cardio/walk & legs
Sat - Steady state cardio & stretch

Sherry - There is always something to worry about when it comes to kids! I think Starbucks & college is a great choice. My DD and I talked about her plans today and I'm feeling a little less anxious about that (there are still some other things going on w/ her that make me anxious, though!) - while she thinks she still wants to go to art school some day - she feels that her portfolio is not good enough right now so her plan is to go to college take art classes and take some general ed/ biology classes (biology is her back up if art doesn't work out for her) and then, if she still wants to go to art school she would transfer later on. It may end up taking longer to finish but at least it would buy her some time in figuring things out. She may do community college or may go away. She does have excellent grades - her GPA is 4.5 (they do a weighted GPA here - so Honors and AP earn extra points). I'm not sure of her test scores yet, as she didn't get her ACT scores back yet - but I expect in the English/reading section she did well - math...we shall see. But, I expect her score to be decent.

wishiwasinhawaii - glad you are feeling better! I know, the flu is just terrible. I'm sorry your nephew was waiting listed.....it does take a long time to become a PT these days- I think most states now require you to have Ph.D.!! I don't even want to think about coronavirus - especially with what it is doing to my retirement accounts!!!

Hope everyone has a good evening - where did the weekend go?

Donna

Leonana 03-01-20 11:37 PM

Well, we didn't paint, so I did the Stepping Strength dvd workout. I really love the Strictly Strength dvd. It moves slower, but since the workouts are longer, I think it's even more effective. I still wish I could do some high impact, low impact never gets my heart rate up as high. However, it's still effective, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

We are supposed to paint tomorrow evening. Dh was tired, and he forecast now shows no rain. We should know better than to go by the forecast, lol.

Donna, your schedule sounds great. After February Fusion, I'm thinking about doing gentler workouts, but longer workouts, around 40-45 minutes a day. Maybe breaking them up. That seems to be the least dread for me and the most effective.

I think that's a great plan for your dd. I don't think it's bad to take longer. So many people change their minds on their careers in their 30's and 40's and start over. Maybe taking your time while younger might prevent that.

Boy, I don't even want to think about dd's college investment account! I googled tuition prices, and if she lives at home and goes to cc and the university all four years, she shouldn't have too much debt. Unless college prices skyrocket between now and then.

donnamp 03-02-20 09:07 AM

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did Faithful Workouts - Pazaz in the Barn. It was a nice change of pace from the walking workouts and such and there is such a positive vibe to these workouts.

At some point, I may do their 14 day kickstart challenge - minus the meal plan. Meal plans stress me out. I may do the food challenges those are not too bad - it is stuff like cut down on added sugar, drink water, eat more veggies -that i can handle.

I may get some stretching in tonight and if the weather is decent a walk at work today.

Sherry - that sounds like a good plan. I like the Get Strong DVD, but I admit it has a bit of dread for me in terms of the length. And, also I'm out of practice w/ long weight workouts.... I think w/ your DD living at home and going to CC and then the local college it shouldn't be too bad.

waves, wishiwasinhawaii!

donnamp 03-03-20 07:00 AM

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I did take a walk at work and in the evening I did a practice from Trifecta - Back Mobilization (15 min). The Trifecta practice was a good one - especially after sitting all day. It is all floor work, too.

Today was:

1 Mile w/ Leslie - From Miracle Miles -for steps
Jessica Valent - Pilates for Arms & Upper Back

If the weather holds up, I will take a walk and stretch again tonight.

Rushing so be back later!

Donna

Leonana 03-03-20 04:58 PM

Yesterday was cleaning. I did some regular house cleaning, then cleaned the tops of my kitchen cabinets. The dust was pretty bad, and I spent a couple of hours. It was a good leg workout, climbing on the chair, then the countertop, then back down again. I really felt it in my hips and glutes. I also got a lot of shoulder work in. I guess that's pretty good for being 60, to be able to stand on my countertops and clean! I noticed that I was on tip toes, gripping with my toes. Those Jessica moves, where she has you stand on your toes, came in handy. It wiped me out, so I rested the rest of the day. I was tired this morning too. I'm planning on a short strength workout this evening. Today was also Goodwill Tuesday, my friend and I hit four Goodwills, so I got some steps in.

Donna, the Get Strong dvd also gives me some dread because of the length. But once I start it, it doesn't bother me. I think that it's more effective with the extra time. But if I worked outside the home, I'd have a hard time fitting it.

pgun3 03-03-20 06:17 PM

new to this check in

I thought maybe I would join a check in and I have been doing JS now for the last week and a half. I am trying to get back into working out and she is easy on my joints.

not sure if I am supposed to check in daily or whenever I do a workout. :D

Today I can't remember the name of her workout LOL it's in my basement and I did write it on my calendar I promise LOL

Leonana 03-03-20 09:18 PM

pgun3, welcome! You can check in as often as you like. I try to do every day, but sometimes forget and don’t post for a few days.

donnamp 03-04-20 06:48 AM

Hi~

This morning I did:

Jessica Valent - Low Impact HIIT 3 - basically body weight lower body exercises.

Jessica Valent - Sciatica Routine (10 min of stretching hips, hamstrings, etc.)

Welcome Pgun! Check in however you like!! :)

Wow, Sherry - that was a good deep cleaning you did!

Waves, wishiwasinhawaii. I hope you are feeling better.

Donna

wishiwasinhawaii 03-04-20 09:57 AM

I'm feeling back to normal now, thank goodness. I'm off today to stay with my niece, but she's at school now so I'm just about to run a few errands before I have to pick her up this afternoon. Then I have to give her dinner and drive her to cheerleading practice. I don't know how parents do all this, LOL!

I haven't returned to working out yet, but I probably will later this week and just start out with the 'under the weather' workout and take it from there. It's very windy here today but if that improves then I'll go for a walk later.

About Get Strong, I really like that workout. The length doesn't bother me, but the length of the Stepping Strength DVD workout is too long and I have trouble finding the time, so I usually do the youtube version.

Later!

pgun3 03-04-20 05:54 PM

Thank you Sherry and Donna! If Sherry would like to come to clean my house that would be great! LOL

For my wo today I did JS PPP LOL again I can't remember the name. It's Pyramid something...

Leonana 03-04-20 06:34 PM

I didn't fit in a workout yesterday, but I strung together three You Tube workouts. The Back Friendly Strength, Good Resistance Training for Bad Backs, and Best Thigh Exercises for Bad Knees.

I thought my Tai Chi class was going to be watching a demonstration, so I worked out beforehand. But we did most of our regular class, and the demo was only 15 minutes. So, I got in a pretty good workout today.

Donna, I was wiped out for two days by all that cleaning!

wishiwasinhawaii, I don't know how working parents do it either. Hats off to Donna! I homeschooled and didn't work outside the home, and that about killed me, lol. We were busy with a lot of outside activities, so she could have socialization.

pgun, lol! I haven't been cleaning my own house too well lately, so decided to get it in gear. I have a hard time remembering Jessica's workouts, there are so many! I have to check the history on You Tube before I post, and guess on the title if it's a dvd. I post on my PC which is on the other side of the house where I workout and keep my dvd's.

donnamp 03-04-20 06:47 PM

Hi,

I saw Jessica's post about the Spring Ahead challenge and now that is looking good to me, LOL! I'm always changing my mind. But, I really do want to challenge myself more.

DD and I went for a walk after her eye appointment today.

Pgun - Pyramid Power Walk???

Hope everyone has a good evening!

yes! Donna that is it. I also saw her spring challenge and now in my amazon shopping cart are $245 worth of her workouts that I don't already have LOL. I sent her an email in hopes of a discount code, you won't get it if you don't ask.... right?

donnamp 03-05-20 08:59 AM

Hi Everyone,

Today was a lazy day so far - I did:

Jessica Smith - Fusion Fix - 20 min practice.

Pgun - I was thinking about doing mainly the You Tube workouts in the challenge.

I may start it on Saturday....but we shall see! LOL!

I do feel I need some structure, as I tend to waste too much time figuring out what to do!!

Happy Friday Eve!

Today I did JS Dance Walk

Donna back in the day I used to go to my basement look at the dvds and pick one, if I wasn't feeling it I'd pick another, and if I wasn't feeling that one either I would grab another and sometimes that hit the spot and I would do that workout LOL Anything so I wouldn't give up and just go back upstairs

Leonana 03-05-20 09:35 PM

Today was my rest day, since I do Tai Chi on Wednesdays. I'm pretty tired the next day, Tai Chi is a sneaky workout. Since I did extra workouts before the class, I was really tired today. I also did my volunteer filing for the hospice today. I get a little bit of a workout doing that, with extra steps going back and forth to the file cabinets, and squats for the lower drawers.

Donna, I haven't checked out the Spring Ahead Challenge yet. I'm only half way through February Fusion, lol. I do like the challenges, I just do them so much slower.

Pgun, Jessica has put out a lot over the years, so it would add up! I was curious to see how many dvd's I have. Including four of her 10 Minute Solution dvd's, and counting the dvd's in the sets separately, I have 41 of her dvd's, and Walk Strong 3 on Purple Player, which I guess would make 47 if I had the dvd's. But I'm sure my collection doesn't compare to yours or Donna's, or most vidiots. I was definitely late to discovering at home workouts. I wish I had started earlier. Better late than never though! I see by your post in GD that you did get a discount. That's great!

wishiwasinhawaii 03-06-20 04:44 PM

Cold, damp and chilly day here. Good day to stay in.

I'm easing back into fitness and did my first workout today--a short beginner weight workout from HASfit. I only used 3 lbs and they felt heavy at times, so that was a bit discouraging. I haven't done anything in about a month though so maybe that's to be expected after being sick. Oh well, baby steps.

I saw Jessica's new spring challenge, but it will have to be a summer challenge for me.

I would have to go down and count my JS workouts. I bought 3 yesterday. And maybe I had 12 downstairs. So you have me beat LOL

I guess today was my rest day since I couldn't seem to get myself out of bed this morning. I should have because my hormones took over today LOL

I have just got myself back into working out again also...I just started back up last week. I have worked out 4 days this week so far. For me that is a LOT. Jessica makes it easy, no dread factor.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was a busy day so I didn't get a chance to check in:

Friday:

Leslie Heart Healthy 1 Mile walk (You Tube) - it looks like this one is pretty new - released this February.

Jessica Valent - Pilates for Legs

Saturday:

Jessica Smith - Stride & Step (You Tube)
Jessica Valent - Renew & Restore

I was thinking about doing Jessica Smith's spring challenge, but i think I will stick w/ my Jessica Valent plan - I paid for her subscription through mid-April, so I would feel bad not using it. Maybe I'll do Spring Ahead when my subscription runs out!

Hope everyone has a good Saturday - sorry to be so rushed!!

Donna

Leonana 03-07-20 01:10 PM

Yesterday was Upper Body Barre (skipping the floor work). Added in 1 Mile Express Abs Walk for ab work. I guess I've moved into Week 4 of February Fusion, skipping some of the Week 3 workouts. I guess I will do some of the Week 4 workouts, then check out the Spring Challenge. I'm working on my kitchen cabinets today, cleaning, sanding and stain touch up. My kitchen is really bad and needs help. I guess I somehow got some home improvement motivation lately, lol. I will probably do a stretch tonight.

Pgun, I do have a lot of Jessica's workouts! I was guessing that most people at VF have more dvd's overall than me, including all instructors. I have about three or four non-Jessica dvd's.

Donna, it makes sense to do your subscription. I need to look at the Spring Challenge, and see if it will work for me.

donnamp 03-08-20 09:09 AM

Hi Everyone,

This morning was Ellen's Total Body Tune Up - a winner!

Whenever I do Ellen's workouts I think that is all I want to do plus maybe a little cardio...some Pilates or Yoga.

Ellen's new workout for the month is up - Dynamic Cardio - I may try to do it tomorrow morning if I can get up early enough for a 45 min workout - not sure w/ daylight savings time.

Good job, Sherry on the February Fusion rotation - I think it is good to make it work for you - there is no "rule" that says you have to finish it in a certain amount of time or do every workout! I may do the Spring rotation when my Jessica Valent subscription runs out.

Next year, I'm really thinking about a no subscription year (except for Ellen - but her's is really cheap~) so I can focus more on my DVDs and things I already own.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!!!

Donna

Today was Fusion Fix Cardio. That really hit the spot for today. I think I'm done with February Fusion, I probably did half the workouts. Well, maybe, lol. But I think this kind of tweaking works for me. I like the accountability of the schedule, and challenging myself, but also making it flexible fits with my regular life. I think I will do the same with the Spring Challenge tomorrow.

Waves to everyone!

Pgun, I do have a lot of Jessica's workouts! I was guessing that most people at VF have more dvd's overall than me, including all instructors. I have about three or four non-Jessica dvd's.

so are you saying that you only have 3 or 4 other workout dvds other then Jessicas? LOL Wow. I have way too many and many that I don't do I am afraid of getting rid of because dvds are going out. the ones I don't do are too hard for me right now and maybe even in the future LOL Good for you for not over indulging in workout dvds!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday DD and I walked in the afternoon - so that was good!

Today was Ellen's Dynamic Cardio. It was a longer workout, but pretty moderate. My only critique was there was a lot of repetition. Ellen does tend to do a lot of repetition and taking it from the top when she does cardio based workouts so it shouldn't surprise me. There were three combos repeated several times. She could have probably added a combo or two and done less repetition especially since the choreography was not tricky. Still, I'm glad I did this one and felt good afterwards. I wasn't sure if I could manage a 45 min workout on the first day back to work after daylight savings time, but I did! LOL!

It is supposed to be nice today so I will get out to walk at lunch. I have to stock up on hand lotion - all this hand washing and sanitizing is stripping my hands!!! From what I understand the shelves are empty of hand sanitizer around here!

We do have some COVID-19 cases here that are close by.

Hope everyone has a good day!!!

Hey Donna glad you had a good walk with your DD!! I am not sure if the hand saniitizer if off the shelves here...I haven't looked. We have some cases in MI but I am not really too concerned with the virus. I work in a dental office and I am just trying to wash my hands a lot.

No workout for me today....I was too tired to get up, bad nights sleep! UGH

Hi Everyone,

This morning was Jessica Valent - Towel Workout. In this one she uses a towel both as a strap and as a glider. It was an interesting workout - but it doesn't work great on my surface - carpet in my workout room w/ ceramic tile underneath - so being on the tile to slide is too hard/cold but on the carpet it doesn't slide. I modified doing things w/out the "glide" While I like Jessica, I'm finding that many of her workouts are just too fussy for me right now - this one w/ the gliding/sliding and the one I did a few weeks ago w/ the wall. I suppose if I had a different space configuration it would work, but for now it feels too fussy and complicated.

I will do her push-up challenge this evening - it is only 9 minutes....I didn't have time this morning.

Yesterday I did take a walk at work to buy hand lotion. No hand sanitizer or Clorox wipes around here for miles!!

Pgun - I don't know if there are any cases in MI. We have some here in MD and D.C. not sure about VA....with the media hype it is hard to know how worried we should be. To make matters worse, allergy season is kicking in here - so I'm sure there will be a lot of false alarms so to speak w/ people mistaking that for the virus.

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!!

Hi Everyone,

I changed gears a bit - at least for today - and maybe for a few days - who knows...

I did:

Gilad - 30th Anniversary Show # 1 - it was half cardio/half lower body & abs floor work. Nice scenery, low dread. Good for a change of pace.

CS 1201 - I've done this before and I have been missing my CS workouts - so why not start at the beginning of Season 12?

Hope everyone has a good day!

Donna

OMGoodness ladies!! I have yet to workout in 3 days and i am REGRETTING it LOL. I have been working out to get my hormones in check and well this morning they hit me FULL force! I woke up and argued with myself to get up be I was soooo tired I didn't. I should have reminded myself the real reason I am trying to get back into working out because I needed it today.

So back to getting up tomorrow LOL Wish me luck!

I counted recently, I have five non Jessica dvds, 46 total, and Walk Strong 3 on Purple Player. I know what you mean, I want to get WS3 on dvd too, so I have it! I didn’t start with home workouts until 2012 when I was 52, and did one Jillian Michael’s dvd lol. A year later, I discovered Jessica and you tube, so never really bought a lot of dvds. I have gotten rid of some over the years, maybe around fifteen.

Monday I worked on restaining our cabinets. Yesterday, dd and I left to go up north to visit family in the mountains. No workout yesterday or today. Tomorrow we go home, so probably no workout.

I sprained my foot going through my brother’s garage, it got caught on a ramp and I twisted it. It’s not bad, I can walk on it, the swelling has gone down, and so has the soreness. But I can’t do cardio for a few days at least. I see chair workouts in my future.

Donna, Dr. Mike’s you tube channel has a video on Coronavirus media misinformation. I can relate, I don’t like fussy workouts either.

Pgun, I know what you mean. My anxiety and stress are worse when I don’t work out.

I started buying VHS in my early 20's I am 52 now. I have a lot of dvd's now. I really don't know how many. I have a lot of Cathe, The Firms which were my very first home workout purchases. I still have the original Clamshell VHS. I can't seem to part with them! I now have Jessica, Ellen, quite a few yoga that I don't even do. Tracy Steahle (sp?), MD, T-Tap which I don't do, LS, Turbo Fire. I am afraid to part with any because I may get fit again and do them (but I highly doubt it at my age). But I can dream can't I?
