KETTLEBELL Complex 'Melt Down' Series by Dasha Libin

There weren't that many reviews of this one, so I was wondering if anyone had it and what did they think? How is it compared to Lauren Brooks dvds? How is it compared to her Scorcher set? Worth what you paid for it?

Thanks!

Anyone?

Oh, I haven't heard of this one. I'm tempted to pull out her Scorcher though. :)

I bought this when it first came out. I wish I would have ordered it from Mary, but at first Mary wasn’t going to be carrying it because the dvd number was going to be very limited and only available directly from KBKB. It is different than the Scorcher series, which has a really strong cardio element to it. Complex Melt Down is more strength and functional movement based. If you want to get the general flavor of her complexes, she has posted a lot of similar sort of flows on her IG account, particularly the posts before she was recently pregnant and had her baby. She will chain together several moves, maybe four or five, and you will do a certain number of rounds of each chain on each side, which she calls a “complex,” before moving onto the next grouping of moves. I enjoyed it enough to pay the full purchase price, but it is a departure from the scorcher series. It is somewhat like Lauren Brooks’ offerings in recent years, which are very strength based with some cardio sprinkled in. Complex meltdown’s pace is slower and more careful due to the strength emphasis and often working multiple muscle groups at one time. She has said recently in her IG stories that she’s going to start a KBKB streaming service and has indicated that she will add new content weekly. I generally hesitate to answer on the forum, because I usually just lurk and figure that other people can give a better answer than I can, but I hope that helps!

Msu this helps a lot, thank you! I enjoy Dasha a lot, but found that the Scorcher series, though enjoyable, just wasn't enough strength for me. I wanted Dasha but with strength. And the fact that she is thinking of going the streaming route lets me know I better scoop this one up on dvd before it isn't available anymore :)

I only have the Scorcher series, as well as 7 Day Lean but Dasha talks non-stop. I tend to reach for Lauren's workouts more than Dasha's because of this one factor. But, I like the idea of the Meltdown Complex series from the clip I've seen with it's strength focus and use of double kettlebells, plus the slower more controlled pace.

I always love that she has modifiers for various fitness levels, too!

Thanks for the breakdown aliskina! Hmmm....I am new to kettlebells, so I don't know how to do doubles work yet. Can I just use one bell?

Yes, you can do one bell. You’ll just work one side at a time instead of both together. You can also use two different weights of bells together and just switch each time you do the workout as to which side has the heavier and lighter bell so you’re worked equally.

Thanks Cjayd! I'd probably just just work one side at a time during the workout, as chances are very good that I'd never remember to switch starting hands from workout to workout :o
