Total Max Mixers - Week of February 21

Hi everyone. My workout yesterday was all 75 minutes of Kickmax. I haven't done the leg drills since I first got this workout. They were pretty hard.

We are finally getting a bit of a break on the cold weather. I am ready!

Waves to all. Have a good day.

Gibbee 02-21-21 01:35 PM

JB: Stay Warm! We finally got above freezing yesterday. Today should be up to 40 and it feels like summer comparatively speaking. The snow has gone nowhere yet, but that's OK.

Cher: I keep meaning to tell you that a lot of mornings I will open my bathroom window to let steam out. Sure as shootin' there will be a crow say 'caw caw caw'... and instantly I think of The Middle TV show's opening scene! LOL! I know you will understand what I am talking about.

Vannie: How is going with you?

Karen: Hope all is well.

Check in: No workout yesterday. DD and her fiance closed on their home on Tuesday. We took off Friday for the locksmith to change the keys. Well it was 42 degrees when we went in the house. The thermostat had broken and it was 1 degree outside. Spent over 6 hours waiting for the repair guy to arrive. We weren't sure what was wrong because we aren't familiar with a combined gas/electric heating unit. Thankfully he came right after the locksmith left. Then yesterday I stayed while the guy came to clean out the ductwork and clean the carpeting (which is in only parts of the house). I was there from 8 til 5. I told DD I'm not working on the house today. Haha. That won't be true because I bought them a vacuum cleaner and plan to take it to the house today. ;)

They get married 28 days from now... Sunday March 21. She is keeping the wedding extremely small and already I have had push back from DH's extended family (mostly his aunts). I'm sorry, but it's not my wedding and my aunts and cousins aren't invited either, so suck it up, buttercups. They are planning a larger summer reception for extended family and friends when, hopefully, we can be outside and the virus will be less of a threat to our elderly family members (inoculated) and friends.

Today my workout was Fit Split Pull weights only, but I did a second round of the deadlifts (suitcase grip) and only half of the stability ball roll-ins.

Waves!!!

karjoy 02-21-21 08:05 PM

My IPhone just ate my post. Arrrgghh! Of course it was a longer one too. I will catch up tomorrow. Ran 15 miles today. I have done a lot of stretching and feel good.

Good to hear from you again Gibbee. So sweet of you you help out DD.

Waves to all, kareng

JBliff 02-22-21 07:20 AM

Hi all. My workout yesterday was LITE Metabolic Training + core + extended stretch.

Karjoy - You've really been ramping up your runs! How's the weather in Florida?

Gibbee
- Bummer about the repair to the house before your DD can move in. Wasn't the house inspected before your DD bought it? I'm glad it is warming up for you. We may have some snow showers today but will be in the 60s tomorrow. Crazy.

Cher - I saw your duplicate post and will direct people to this post. I started a new thread Sunday.

Hi to Vannie.

Have a good day, everyone.

Today has been a bust. I didn't sleep well so woke up very tired. Did some house work before breakfast and walked after I ate. Cyric did not want to walk far so we only went about a mile. He was acting weird this morning and I wonder if he hurt himself standing/walking on his hind legs like he does to bark at the neighbors' dog on our last walk last night. Of course I was worried about him and he wanted attention so I sat down to pet him and decided a little 30-minute nap couldn't hurt, right? Two hours later I finally woke up and ate lunch at 3. Oops! Sooo...looks like I already messed up the workout schedule that I just set up this morning. :o

Vantreesta 02-22-21 06:59 PM

NOOOO! I just got the dreaded 500 error for the first time. I have never gotten it on my phone but I'm on the laptop now bc I was going to try to finally do personals. I was writing about MyFitnessPal but I don't know if anyone is really interested. If so, then I can retype the whole darn thing. Grr.

Unfortunately, now I'm out of time and need to make supper.

Cher 02-22-21 07:25 PM

Thanks JBliff for referring me to the right thread! :p I don’t know why I couldn’t find this post this morning! :o

Copying my post here:

Workout Saturday was Rick Bhullar walks (YouTube)....ended up doing 2 of his 15 min walks. The Feel Good Walk and The Rock Walk. I enjoyed them both! On the Rock one he did talk (which is fine with me since I like his accent anyway , on the other walk he didn’t talk. I also did Cathe’s Basic Step Upper Body Add-on. Then cleaned up my exercise bike (it was filthy for just sitting in the basement and not being touched for years) and I also figured out a way that I can watch something on my iPad to pass the time while riding it if I want to give it a try again.

Nothing yesterday. My SIL dog was here and she cries when I go in the basement.

Today’s workout was a quickie since I had a dentist appointment. I just did the warm-up from Basic Step and then Lower Body Add-on.

Catch up post! ;)

Gibbee - I miss The Middle! That was such a cute show. I don’t even see them playing reruns anywhere yet. What a hassle about the heat right after closing on the house but at least it’s fixed now. All those family members are just going to have to understand about the wedding and not being invited. It’s a shame but those are the times we are in right now.

Vannie - Sounds like a nice relaxing morning to me! :p

Karen & Vannie - What a hassle losing posts!

karjoy 02-22-21 07:31 PM

Hi guys. I am resting today. Got a decent night’s sleep last night which helps.

Jbliff we are having changeable weather and more rain than we have had in a while. It was about 36 degrees Saturday morning, about 45 Sunday morning and
I think in the 50s today.looks like we will be in the low 70s and high 60s during the day.

Vannie isn’t it so frustrating to lose a post!? Ugh...
And of course it is always the better posts and not just the drive by ones.

Cher when do you guys go to your cabin? I assume you wait till at least late spring if not summer. I always wondered. Cute pics of the little dog!

Waves to Gibbee, kareng

Cher 02-24-21 07:02 AM

Workout yesterday was about 20 minutes on my stationary bike while watching show on my iPad, then did Cathe’s Upper Body Add-on and the Bonus Stretch from Perfect 30 Pump.

JBliff - We usually open up the cabin sometime the end of April to mid May. It all depends when the temperatures are warm enough to turn the water back on so the pipes don’t freeze. One year we went for my dad’s birthday which is April 15.....last year we couldn’t go until the weekend before Memorial Weekend. It’s sort of just a wait and see. Mara is such a cute little dog!

JBliff 02-24-21 11:00 AM

Hi all. My workout yesterday was a walk in town with DH in the morning + all of Drill Max in the afternoon. What a fun and long workout! I can't believe Cathe used to make workouts lasting over 70 minutes. I've been enjoying going through her old DVDs. It's almost like having brand new workouts.

Cher
- How old is Mara now? How's the COVID and vaccination situation in your state?

Karjoy - We're supposed to get to almost 70 today but back to the 50s tomorrow. My sleep pattern is so crazy bad these days.

Hi to Vannie and Gibbee. Have a good day, everyone.

karjoy 02-24-21 09:10 PM

Hi all. Ran 6 slow miles with Heather this am and got in a good upper body workout with Cathe band. Hit everything well except chest so I will do push-ups tomorrow.

Jbliff, DrillMax is super tough. Good job! I remember jumping over and over the mat. Yikes! Yes, seems like lots of the old Cathe’s were at least an hour long. Even the all step workouts.

Cher I bet you really look forward to going to the cabin after a long, cold winter. Something to get excited about. Do you have to take lots of supplies or do you keep some stored?

Looks like warm weather may be set in from now on. I think we are done with cold mornings like today when it was 36 degrees. Oh well, must adapt.

Waves to all, kareng

Vantreesta 02-24-21 11:41 PM

It's been an up and down week. I forget now why I didn't workout on Monday. Tuesday I started the 30-Day Qi gong challenge again then did Caroline Jordan's exercises for high hamstring tendonitis, ran/walked 1.972 mi for wk3 day2 of the 10k trainer, 12 Days of Crossrope day 8, a segment of Quick Fix Pilates Abs and Slim & Limber. I felt great and got housework done before breakfast and everything else. Today I didn't feel great when I got up so went back to bed for an hour. Body was better but still feel weird/off. I was hoping changing to spring wouldn't mess me up this year but I'm not so sure. Anyway, I couldn't get myself to workout this morning or do anything else. I decided I would workout after my 2:00 chiro appt, was all fired up for it and as I walked up to the house coming back from my appt I discovered our 100+ pound cement dwarf who's been sitting in front of our house for a decade was gone. Who steals a big cement statue from someone's house??? I have just been so upset about it and never did workout or do anything else. I know I should have shaken it off and moved on but i am just stuck on the fact that someone had to actually plan to steal it. It's not like you toss a hunk of cement in your backpack and walk away. It took a plan, at least two people and a vehicle and it was done while I was in the house, unless they were ballsy enough to do it while we were out walking. So that was my day. I hope I stop dwelling on it tmrw.

Cher 02-25-21 07:01 AM

Workout yesterday was Jenny Ford March Across America Ohio. This is why I hate streaming videos.....it took 10 minutes to get the Fire Stick to work on my TV then another 5 minutes to find the workout I was going to do, then the damn thing froze half way through and I had to run and get my iPad (more wasted time) and finish off my iPad. So much of my workout time wasted.

Finally announced for our county that 60 and over can sign up for vaccine. (Was previously 65). Darrell is 62 so I got him on the list. We’ll see how long it takes for them to contact us for his.

JBliff - Mara turned one in November. We got to 45 yesterday and it was sunny too! Woo Hoo! Only about a high of 34 for today but I’ll take it. That’s good for February.

Karen - When we go to the cabin, we mainly just bring whatever food and drinks we want. My mom will bring more staple stuff back up for her refrig. We usually all eat dinners together but handle our own breakfasts and lunch a lot of the time. As far as other things, we do have sheets, towels, blankets, dishes and all that type of stuff that we leave at the cabin all the time. (My mom has a washer & dryer in her cabin). I also have cleaning supplies that I leave up there all the time too. So, there might be a few extra things but not much more than normal.

Vannie - That really stinks about the statue. How can people just do stuff like that????

Gibbee 02-25-21 08:31 AM

Vannie: How awful! Why would someone do that? A friend of mine had a statue of Mary taken from their yard a couple of years ago. Why? I am sorry to hear this happened.

Cher: I wish the middle was in syndication somewhere! I could use a distraction.

JB: I agree. Some of the older workouts sure feel fresh.

Karen: We had a blip of warm weather but it's passed. That's OK - at least the sun has been out a bit more.

Check in: Still having some real exhaustion. This week I have done:

Monday: Fit Split push weights only
Tuesday: 1/2 mile walk
Wednesday: RAW Strength #1 (new to the app), 10 minute Leslie walk
Today: ICE RESE Punch mix only, RAW get up & move planks

Waves!

JBliff 02-25-21 08:48 AM

Hi all. My workout yesterday was a 95-minute brisk walk with DH. It was a beautiful day (mid 60s and sunny) so we couldn't stay inside.

Karjoy
- There were lots of jumping in Drill Max and tricep pushups on the ball. Those were fun.

Cher - Sounds like it was a workout to get a workout in :D. That's awesome you got your DH signed up for the vaccine. We are still not in the phase where people under 65 without pre-existing conditions can sign up.

Vannie - That is pretty awful about someone stealing a heavy concrete statue. You're right it must have been planned. I don't blame you for being super upset.

Gibbee - Can you get the series on DVD?

Have a good day, everyone.

JBliff 02-26-21 05:13 PM

My workout yesterday was Fit Split Bootcamp/Legs & Glutes and a short walk in town.

Waves to everyone.

Cher 02-27-21 07:19 AM

No workout Thursday, DH talked me into going out to breakfast so those of you that know me, knows if my workout doesn’t get done in the morning, it usually doesn’t get done. Yesterday’s workout was KCM Your Best Body Lower Body & Cardio premix and Body Design Upper Body.

Gibbee - Good job with your workouts. How much work other work has to be done before Alex and her fiancé can move in their house?

JBliff - Sounds like such a nice walk the other day. I was going to go for a walk Thursday (after breakfast) but my street does not have side walks and despite it being sunny, there is still to much snow on the side of the road so if a car came by, there is no where to walk but in the piles of plowed snow and I didn’t want to have to wear boots to walk. Hopefully it’ll be melted soon. DH doesn’t have an appointment for the vaccine yet, so I’m sure it will be a while since there are not many available yet. This is just the list for them to call you when it is.

JBliff 02-27-21 10:03 AM

Hi all. My workout yesterday was a 45-minute walk with DH and Perfect30 Mobility Basics. Yesterday was the last non-rainy days we'll have in a while but it was pretty damp and cold.

Cher
- I wouldn't go for a walk either if I had to walk through snowdrifts. At least your DH is on the list; that's the first step!

Waves to everyone. Have a good day.

karjoy 02-27-21 08:21 PM

Hi guys. Sorry I missed the last couple days. The time escaped me. Today we did a long run, 15 miles, using intervals. It’s getting pretty warm now but we lucked out and the clouds stayed behind the sun most of the time.

Vannie that is horrible that someone stole your dwarf! I mean, what in the world?
It sure sounds like it was planned. I keep shaking my head...

It got up to 80 degrees here today but looks like it will be down to low 70s in a day or 2.

Cher I would not walk without sidewalks either with snow drifts piled up. And people these days drive so distracted that I take NO chances and I’m glad you don’t either! Do you have to drive some place to go for a walk? That’s great your DH might be vaccinated soon.

Jbliff a 95 minute walk in 60ish degree weather sounds heavenly!

Gibbee your workouts look really good. I’m love the old Cathes but it is nice to have shorter workouts for sure.

Night all
