Anyone use a Lateral Slide Board?

I wanted one of these years ago. I know they really work you, but they still look like fun. Anyone use this?

I have one similar to this, got a real deal on it. I haven't used it for ages, but it is a good way to get a low impact cardio and lower body workout.

Oh boy I used to take slide classes in the late 1980s early 90s. "The Slide," it gets your heart pumping like crazy. It looks so fun an easy but it's a killer workout (or it seemed so to me at the time). We'd do some step, some hi-lo and then slide for the last 10 minutes. You can also do some interesting core exercises on it.

I think on days you just want to get some good, no impact cardio in, this would be great. Instead of walking dvds or walking outside. It would be great for building the side muscles around the knees as well.

We have two of these at the gym, never pull them out. We just use cardboard from cereal boxes or kleenex boxes under the foot to make a sliding disc.

I've been watching video clips on YouTube. It's come a long way. They've really gotten creative with what you can do with them.

Tina - when i have more time, I'll look at the set I just got and give you the name and I also just got a set of 2 Barre Dvds that has a slide segment on each one. Fun....fun. My fave way is to blast my music and just go to town....however, if I haven't used it in a while......I have to limit the time....or my legs will be too sore the next day!!

I was a huge fan of the slide years back, and bought every slide video at the time. I still have my Reebok slide, and it is a great tool for lateral training, developing core stability, and doing exercises for the core with booties on your hands. You could use it with Cathe's more recent slide DVD. It takes up a lot of space so it has been in my attic, but I may go get it now!
