Pilates Triad Ball-Does it make a difference?

I've been looking through Ton and Michael's website for continuing education for pilates and I find that I'm interested in picking up their Triad Ball workouts again. For those of you that have the triad ball, does the ball's size/texture make a difference in the workout compared to other balls (e.g. Fluidity or sticky ball from 10 MS set)? RedPanda, I know you have this ball--and if you don't, I'm probably enabling! LOL

Hey Natural we've been wondering how you are doing!

I've had the TRIAD ball for several years now and what I like about it is the durability. A long time ago I'd purchased an overball to accompany Leslee Bender's original Mini-Ball Pilates workout. That one got all misshapen and bubbly for lack of a better word over time.

Sorry to say I use the actual TRIAD ball with other videos much more than I use the TRIAD videos. :( Just so long!

Wha? Why did you post this? I've never even heard of a Triad ball, and now I find I need one - and there's an entire page of Pilates DVDs I've never heard of either!

What about my wise buying challenge? Gah!

[Off to check out whether they do international postage] :o

Some of these dvds (including the ball) are for sale on amazon.

Running to hide.

Wha?

Just as well, because the only international shipping option for one DVD is "$114.25 UPS Worldwide Expedited".

That's the most expensive shipping quote I've ever seen, and I've seen a few.

I could get the ball only for $21 and it looks as though the vendor will ship to Australia.

What makes this ball different from say, the pink mini-ball that comes with 10MS Quick Sculpt Pilates?

I think the same vendor has a ball/dvd special. I started the thread because at I wanted to know the difference between the Triad and the pink mini-ball. It's definitely BIGGER and purple!:p LOL It looks (to my teacher's eye) like the slightly larger size might be more conducive to doing exercises that mimic the small barrel. Here's a link to some exercises with the Triad ball.

Bigger and purple, you say? Then it seems I must have one!

Thanks for that link - I've bookmarked it. I see what you mean about the larger size. The criss-cross, in particular, would be difficult to execute with good form with the smaller ball.

Can anyone else comment on the DVDs?

I got the first dvd from my super secret source in town (I love my used bookstores!) and it was good. I'll do it again this weekend with my Fluidity ball and report back. (I just wanna know if I *need* the Triad Ball!)
