What's the best quote your Grandmother gave you?
I have a lot of great quotes I remember from my Grandmother. The one I've been thinking of a lot lately as I see people complaining of not having anything to do is 'Smart people never get bored.' I took it as a challenge as a child and internalized it. I can't imaging being bored in the world I live in.

Just want to preface this with how truly awful my grandmother was, she was the worst person I have ever known. That being said she was 99 when she died and actually pretty healthy until the last year or so of her life. Here’s her quote:
“Once you stop moving you might as well lie down and die.” Rough but true. Jane |
My grandmother said something similar.
"Life is full of struggle and when you stop struggling, you die." |
Stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about.

I always remember my grandmother saying “If you love to read, you will never be bored.”
I think this is so true. I’m 58, and I know I’ll never live long enough to read all the books I would like to read. I’m happy to say Amy daughter is a book lover, too, and we’re doing our best to instill a love of books in my grandson. SueT |

I heard this growing up!! |
Her famous quote after a break up with a boyfriend...."there's other trash in the alley!"
|
“No one can ever steal/take away your education; get as much as you can”
And for me, that has kept my life interesting. Whether I read a book, learn to sew, try a new recipe, engage in conversation, or actually take a course in a particular subject...I am always learning. |
